Following recent legislative changes to Right to Work identity screening, UK employers now have the option of performing Right to Work checks remotely using digital identity service providers (IDSPs).
HooYu is certified through the UK government Digital Identity Certification Scheme (DICS) to provide the identity verification screening element of UK Right to Work checks.
On October 1st 2022, the temporary remote screening measures put in place during the pandemic came to an end. If you’re an employer, you will now need to choose one of the following three ways to verify the identity of your applicants:
Checking applicants’ Right to Work status manually can be laborious, time-consuming, costly and inconvenient – for both employers and applicants. Digital checking has many advantages over manual identity screening. It is faster, more convenient and more accurate.
By focusing on three key factors, HooYu ID Screen is engineered to make identity verification easy for both employers and service users.
We recognise that different use cases, risk environments and business profiles demand differing methods, techniques and strengths of ID verification.
For that reason, we offer a ‘pick and mix’ approach when it comes to configuring and orchestrating the most suitable Know Your Customer (KYC) journeys for your customers. Our approach allows you to choose the features and functions that best suit your business needs, compliance obligations and your end users’ requirements.
HooYu has been certified against standards set in the UK government Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF) to provide digital identity screening for Right to Work, Right to Rent and criminal record (DBS) checks. That means all areas of our governance, systems, controls and technology have been audited and reviewed and found to be robust, effective and safe.
The Home Office recommends that employers only accept digital identity checks that satisfy a minimum of a 'Medium Level of Confidence'. Find out what that means and how we help employers achieve the most appropriate and compliant 'Level of Confidence' in their users' identities.
